Dressed up

I don't have much to write today, besides the fact that I am currently dressed up in my best clothes. Silky black dress pants, a blue dress shirt, and of course, the obligatory black dress shoes and black leather belt.

I have to leave the office early at 4:30 so that I can go to my girlfriend's cousin's wedding. Yay.

I hate weddings almost as much as I hate funerals.

  1. Love to have a picture of you all dressed up! :)

    Mom

  2. That’s not nice. I love weddings!!

  3. Well, going to weddings of people I don’t know always feels weird. It’s like, I’m expected to be all happy for them and give them gifts but I don’t even know them.

And assuming that I *do* know them, and say, it’s one of my best friends getting married… Well. That’s like a funeral.
Because as soon as they get married they get caught up in the married life and their job and what not. All their spare time is spent with their wife. So you almost completely lose them as a friend.

  4. Well you do look really nice, Tommy. I am happy that your going with me. You can meet some of my favorite relatives & have a nice dinner. I appreciate very much & am proud that your going with me.

  5. hmm, I suppose. . . but I still think it would be fun and exciting. And even though a friend might not have as much time for other stuff I would still be really happy for them cuz they’re so happy themselves!

Daddy doesn’t like weddings either. He says it’s a guy thing.

  6. I bet you had fun…

In healthy marriages they have nights with just their friends.. and when they have children, they have date nights.. you have so much to learn Tommy.. its called compromise and being laid back. Only when things are bad for the marriage is all the time spent with each other… guys and their pessimistic views. lol.

  7. ok so none of my friends have had healthy marriages then.

  8. Well in all the great marriages Ive seen they give one another space when needed. A thing called compromise everyone should have learned by now.
