Hot Air Balloon Ride

Posted by Thomas Chapin on Tuesday, February 26th, 2008

This past Saturday, I went on a hot air balloon ride! We went over a mile high, and it was awesome!
My business partner, Chris Tingom, came along (he rode in the other balloon) and he took a video of the experience, and a few photos. I took a video as well, but he beat me [...]

Litmus Test for Door to Door Sales

Posted by Thomas Chapin on Monday, October 22nd, 2007

If I ever get down on my luck, I’m totally going to start a business selling “No Soliciting” signs from door to door.
The way I see it, it’s practically a guaranteed sale…
“Sorry, we’re not interested in whatever you’re selling! In fact, we hate door to door sales people!”
“Well in that case, you’ll love this sign!”

Car Alarm

Posted by Thomas Chapin on Tuesday, December 13th, 2005

Late for work, I walked out of my apartment this morning only to behold a spectacle before my eyes. My rear passenger side car window was broken and glass was all over the place.

From what I can piece together, apparently someone tried to break into my car last night to see what kind of goodies I had inside. However, when they reached around to unlock the door from the inside, the car alarm must have gone off and scared them away.

I still have to call the cops and report it. Then I’ll have to deal with all the pain of getting the actual window replaced. ugh.

Dude! I’m sorry about that. Will your insurance cover it?

  2. tominator1983 Says:

I’m not sure.. still have to find out all the details

  3. tominator1983 Says:

Ok. Yup, the insurance company is supposed to replace the window tomorrow. It’ll cost $50 (the comprehensive deductible), but that’s all. Oh well.

I went ahead and cleaned up all the broken glass and got it all vacuumed up so now my car looks normal again. Except for the missing window, of course.

Does your apartment have a gated parking area, or is it all open like the Hunington was? That’s a really sucky Christmas present! Speaking of which, are you going to come to the Christmas weekend thing that Harmon and Hope are doing?

  5. tominator1983 Says:

Yeah it’s gated… And my parking spot is right next to the gate… and is one of the few parking spots with a fluerescent light directly above it. Because it’s near the gate, it’s relatively high traffic, so I’m guessing that helped the situation. Probably the alarm went off and a car was coming into the gate so the vandal ran off.

I already got the window replaced and everything but I still have to get it re-tinted so it matches the rest of the car.

And yup, I’m planning on hanging out with y’all when I come to dallas.
